For instance, the daily dose of vitamin C used in studies that showed a lower risk of cataracts is 500mg. And long-term studies have demonstrated that people consuming a daily dose of more than 700 mg of vitamin C per day run a 25 percent lower risk of coronary heart disease than those who don’t.
