The audience also is curious about two new characters who are Black Panther and the new version of Spider-Man. Contrary to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, this blockbuster of Marvel Studios received the support of critics and contributed to the huge income for the publisher, Disney.
One of the best movies in 2016 is Zoopita. This blockbuster of Disney is expected to become the best-animated film in Oscar next year. Zoopita created a lively city where people and animals living peacefully. The meaningful messages about the life of creators Pixar and hidden corners of society were reflected in the film through the funny laugh. Zoopita is the second firm of Disney achieving the income of $ 1 billion in 2016. Disney also needs to thank the Chinese because of their contributions more than 235 million in their revenue.
3. The Witch
This film won the Best Director Award at the Sundance Film Festival. Despite a low budget, only approximately $3 million, The Witch still received compliments from the viewers and the critics on the context, the actors who shown successfully their characters.
Not simply scaring the audience by the scenes of horror, the film exploits the fear hidden inside the soul of every person.
4. The Lobster
Debuting at Cannes Film Festival 2015, The Lobster of Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos won the Jury Prize. This film made an impression in many art theaters in North America and Europe in the first two months of this year.
Colin Farrell plays the unmarried men who are forced to stay in The Hotel to find a lover. If cannot find someone after 45 days, he will turn into an animal. The romantic drama is built in the style of humor with profound details.
Surprisingly, Deadpool’s revenue was far higher than that of X-Men: Apocalypse although Deadpool always was a delayed project by Fox. Deadpool is a story about Wade Wilson who after finding his cancer, undergoes a treatment giving him ultra-dealing abilities. Deadpool is an extremely funny character and his mouth never stops. The success of Deadpool will support for Fox to continue Deadpool 2.
6. Finding Dory
Finding Dory is one of the most hopeful movies in 2016 after 13 years of expectation of the loyal audience. After traveling with Nemo in the itinerary of finding Nemo’s son, Dory found that she had had a family. Dory started to find her parents with the help of her best friend, Nemo.
It is adapted from a short film with the same name directed by Edward Trey Shults a year ago. Krisha Fairchild, the director’ aunt, plays an addicted woman seeing her family at Thanksgiving Day after disappearing 10 years. Many relatives and friends of the directors also took part in playing because of the limited budget
This film won both the Audience Award and the Grand Jury at the Southwest Film Festival last year. The film also was appreciated at layered storytelling and breakthroughs on the shoot.
8. The Jungle Book
The live-action version of The Jungle has magnificent beauty. Except for the India character Neel Sethi, all details such as trees, rocks, waterfalls and animals are completely built by computer. We should list The Jungle Book in the best movies in 2016 list, too.
Director Jon Favreau brings a new perspective to the film. Instead of creating a musical movie for children, Favreau considered the action as the main factor for the backdrop. 9. The Conjuring 2
Director James Wan takes the viewers to the famous Enfield case in England in 1997 through The Conjuring 2. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga play the couple of telepathies Ed and Lorraine Warren as the first version.
With a story and characters almost like the old version, James Wan skillfully used the light and cameras to create a tense atmosphere. Psychology of the viewer always stretched because of the sounds and ghost images.
10. The Nice Guys
Another in best movies in 2016 list is The Nice Guys. The director of this film is Shane Blck. It was firstly premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2016. In the film, Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling play two men with two contrary characters cooperating to investigate the scandals of the businesses in Los Angeles in the 1970s.
The film is a challenge with the director and two lead actors because they have to put themselves in a completely new location. Ryan Gosling challenges himself with comedy after many action movies. Ryan Gosling abandons handsome model to become a clumsy man while Russell Crowe plays a hot-tempered man instead of the deep man like before.
